  1. Heading East on the Long Island Expressway (I-495) take exit 62.  
  2. On the exit ramp you will see the signs for the upcoming ramps, one for Route 97 North and the other for Route 97 South.  You will take the SECOND ramp heading NORTH.  
  3. Once you get off the ramp you will be on Route 97(Nicolls Road) heading north.  
  4. After about 7 miles Route 97(Nicolls Road) will intersect with Route 347. This is a sign that you are about a mile away from Stony Brook University. Keep going straight.   
  5. The traffic light immediately after the Welcome to Stony Brook University sign - is the first entrance to the university. Keep going straight.  You will then come to the second entrance (Main Entrance) - Make a left turn into the Main Entrance staying in the left turning lane.
  6. At the light (Circle Road) make a left.
  7. Follow the road around and when you come to the traffic circle stay to the right and bear your first right.
  8. Make a right turn at Engineering Drive and follow to the end.
  9. Make a right turn into the parking lot (there will be a parking attendant at the lot). 
  10. Please bring your parking pass to display on your car. (This is a metered lot, however do not put money in the meters just display your parking pass on windshield ).
  11. If the lot is full you will be directed to the overflow parking lot (metered - do not put money in the meters just display your parking pass on windshield): 
  12. To get to the overflow parking lot, proceed to turn around and go back on Engineering Drive.
  13. At the end of Engineering Drive, make a right turn onto Circle Road.
  14. Proceed to Campus Drive and make a right turn.
  15. Make your first left onto John S. Toll Road and proceed to the parking attendant on your right at the metered lot.
  16. If this area is full make a right on John S. Toll Drive and follow it around the curve passing the Sports Complex and you will see a parking lot to your right. There will be a parking attendant at the lot for you to park.
