CAR 210: Career Planning

Career Planning Course is designed with junior and senior year students in mind who are preparing to start their professional life by pursuing internships and full time jobs. It can certainly benefit any student interested in his/her professional development beyond college. The course will address the career planning process, goal setting, professional communication, understanding of job market trends, career research strategies. The Career Planning Course teaches students a systematic approach to the issues surrounding entering the job market, transitioning from college student role to the professional role. It examines all components of successful transition: knowing what you want - your objectives, what can you offer - self-assessment, what is out there - understanding job market. At the end of the course students will develop the beginning of a portfolio of their written assignments.
