Diversity
A business whose employees are diverse in age, ethnicity, race, and gender has a competitive advantage. The diverse workforce offers any business new and different perspectives, better customer service, and more successful recruiting and retention of employees. As our country becomes increasingly multicultural, it makes good business sense for its workforce to reflect that diversity.
The goal of this section is to help students identify companies who seek candidates with diverse backgrounds for internships and fulltime jobs, as well as scholarship resources.

"A recent survey from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) found that 92 percent of respondents tie diversity recruiting to their larger HR strategic plan. NACE’s 2006 Employer Benchmark Survey found that a majority (65.3 percent) of employers engaged in college recruiting had a line item in their recruiting budgets dedicated to diversity recruitment activities. In addition, the report found that these allocations were far from nominal. On average, respondents reported that nearly one-fourth of their recruiting budgets are dedicated to enhancing diversity in the company’s college-educated work force."
