For Recruiting Organizations
Greetings from the Stony Brook University Volunteers for Community Service (VCS). Thank you for your interest in connecting the talent and devotion of Stony Book University students with a desire to make a difference.
Primary Ways to partner with us:
There are two primary ways for community agencies and schools to partner with the Volunteers for Community Center.
1) Individual and Group Community Service Projects
The office can work with your staff to locate individual volunteers as well as groups of volunteers. Agencies should download either a Volunteer Description form for ongoing volunteer needs, or a Special Group Projects Request form for one-time events or ongoing needs for groups. If you need assistance, contact Urszula Zalewski, Career & Volunteer Programs Coordinator, 631-632-6814 or uzalewski@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. This information will be distributed to students via email as well as get posted on ZebraNet.
2) The Community Service Federal Work Study Program
The office can assist you become a community-based employer in the Community Service Federal Work Study Program. If your organization is interested in participation, please contact Urszula Zalewski, Career & Volunteer Programs Coordinator, 631-632-6814 or uzalewski@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. Each organization will be provided with a contract and basic information about contracting with Stony Brook University to hire and pay students employed through the federal work-study program.
